A School of Computing Student Participates to Win the 2015 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest

Bandung – SOC, (20/09/2015) The good news was re-inscribed by the Team of the Tel-U Aeromodelling Payload and Telemetry Research Group which was fronted by Mr. Burhanuddin Dirgantoro Ir., MT in  2015 KRTI(Indonesian Flying Robot Contest) at the Air Force Unit of Gading, Playen, Wonosari, Gunung Kidul Jogjakarta. One member came from S1 Informatics Engineering (School of Computing) named Yuni Dwiyanti. The APTRG RAVEN Team won 1st Place in the VTOL Dropping Water Base Category consisting of Rasyid Ridho (Bachelor of Telecommunications Engineering), Lutfi Azzam (Bachelor of Industrial Engineering), Yuni Dwiyanti (Bachelor of Information Engineering) and Muhammad Qasim (Bachelor of Electrical Engineering)

This contest aims to develop the potential for making UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) or Unmanned Aircraft Competition in Indonesia. This contest challenges participants to design, create and fly a plane. The challenges given require participants to get a compromise between aircraft geometry, construction, and electronic systems that are integrated into aircraft.

The contest which was held for 4 consecutive days (16-20 September 2015) succeeded in bringing Telkom University to win the champion from several categories in the 2015 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest.

The persistence of these teams also received a positive appreciation from Mr. Yahya (Warek 4 Tel-U), Mr. Hendratno (Director of Student Affairs) and Mr. Rahman (Student Affairs) who participated in the contest.
