Exploration of Partnership Between the School of Computing and Solusi 247

BANDUNG, SOC – Telkom University On Wednesday (06/25/2014) around 13.00 – 16.00 WIB, the School of Computing (SOC) Telkom University received guests from Solusi247. Solusi247 is a company based in Jakarta and engaged in Information Technology (IT) with the provision of services of Technical Consultants, Outsource Solutions, Operational Support Providers, and Business Partners. Solusi247 is represented directly by the Managing Director (CEO), namely Mr. Beno with some staff, while the Chair with several lecturers represents the SIDE (Software Engineering, Information Systems, and Data Engineering) Research Group. His arrival this time is to explore opportunities for cooperation between the SIDE Research Group under SOC with Solusi247 in the framework of “Research Sharing on Big Data & Internet of Things” . In addition to joint research that can be done, this exploration can be useful in providing training or general lectures for lecturers and students as well as resource utilization in Solusi247 in the educational process such as Job Training and Student Final Task. It is hoped that after this collaboration, SOC Lecturers and Students can upgrade their knowledge and have the opportunity to use the latest technology that Industry has in the field of Big Data & Internet of Things. Solutions247 were chosen because they have been tested in their fields with some relevant research, such as:

  1. Tools that run above HADOOP;
  2. Use radar for monitoring the maneuver of ships that want to land at the port;
  3. Involved in many projects in Telecommunications Companies that process data ± 15 billion records/day. The TSOC SIDE Research Group has also produced equally good studies, such as:
    • Use of PENTAHO for analysis of academic data;
    • Use of TALEND for master data management;
    • Application of MongoDB in Government Agencies
    • Internet of Things research between Telkom University and one of the culinary businesses in Jakarta.

The scope of the collaboration that has been proposed and is being discussed with the legal team Solusi24 includes:

  1. Joint research in the field of Big Data and the Internet of Things.
  2. Utilization of resources at 247 Inc. to support the learning process, joint research and community service for Telkom University lecturers and students.
  3. Training and mentoring for the implementation of Big Data technology and the Internet of Things.
