Community Service Application of Technology Location Awareness System to Increase Pangandaran Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Entrepreneurs Economy
Bandung, SOC – Thursday (03/09/2015), the School of Computing, Telkom University again held community service activities. This time at the Setia Hotel, Pangandaran, micro-small-medium entrepreneurs took part in the training “Application of Technology Location Awareness System for Economic Improvement.”
The event was chaired by the Dean of the School of Computing, Dr. Maman Abdurohman presents around 25 participants who are entrepreneurs who are members of the Pangandaran Beach Clothing Entrepreneurs Association. Dr. Maman said that presupposition is a tourism area visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, which triggers the emergence of many small and medium entrepreneurs. In marketing their respective businesses, these entrepreneurs need technology that can encourage tourists to buy their products.
“Pangandaran is a tourist area visited by many tourists,” said Dr. Maman.
“So we need a way that makes it easier for entrepreneurs to increase competition among entrepreneurs in marketing their products,” he continued.
In this event, he gave a presentation on the prototype of the Location Awareness System application and internet marketing training. This training will provide 3 material, namely Facebook marketing presented by Novian Anggis, twitter marketing presented by Sidik Prabowo and marketing Instagram presented by Yusza.
The technology that is trying to be introduced to these entrepreneurs is the Location Awareness System. Location Awareness System is an internet-based technology that can be used by tourists to get information accurately and precisely based on the locations desired by these tourists. For entrepreneurs, this technology can be used to conduct marketing or promotion to prospective buyers/users of technology services.
“Technology Location Awareness System is a technology that provides information and location so that it can guide tourists to get what they want to buy in Pangandaran.” Said Yusza, who is one of the application’s programmer.
“Hopefully this training will provide benefits to entrepreneurs and ultimately be able to improve their economy,” he concluded.
