The School of Computing Launches and Disseminates Garut Tourism Portal

The School of Computing in collaboration with the Office of Tourism and Culture of Garut Regency on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, held a Socialization of the Garut Tourism Portal https://visitgarut.garutkab.go.id/.
This activity is one of the Community Service programs from the School of Computing Lecturer Team: Fhira Nhita, Prof. Adiwijaya, and Dawam Dwi Jatmiko, also supported by expert programmer Yusza Reditya Murti. This community service program is a multi-year grant that has been given for 2 years by Telkom University.

The socialization of the tourist portal was the highlight of the community service activities which had previously been filled with several pieces of training such as multimedia training in collaboration with the School of Computing’s Multimedia Lab.

This socialization event was opened directly by the Regent of Garut, H. Rudy Gunawan, S.H., M.H., MP., And was attended by the Deputy Chancellor 4 Ms. Dr. Rina Pudjiastuti and Dr. Palti MT Sitorus.
Also attended by GMs from several hotels, restaurants, and travel in Garut Regency, the ranks of the Tourism and Culture Office of Garut Regency, and the Garut Communication and Information Service. The Regent of Garut is very grateful for the existence of this Tourism Portal so that tourism in Garut can be known to many people and improve the economy in Garut Regency. On the other hand, to support this, the Garut Regent also made improvements to the infrastructure and face of Garut so that tourists became more interested in visiting Garut.

In this event, there was also a dialogue with GMs of hotels, restaurants, and travel. Like the Santika Hotel, Kampung Sampireun, Danau Dariza, etc. The event was also followed by a website optimization training session and technical guidance for hotel and restaurant admins. It is hoped that with the collaboration of various parties, this tourist portal can be a complete and trusted reference for the domestic and foreign tourists.
