The School of Computing Foresty Team Wins 3rd Place at the 2015 Indonesian Cyber Army Competition
Bandung – SOC, The team from Forensic & Laboratory Security of the Telkom University School of Computing won third place in the Indonesian Cyber Army 2015 competition (Bali, 1/10/2015). ICA or Indonesia Cyber Army is the initial stage of developing a foundation that recruits, chooses, complements and seeks the best students through the competition to become a quality leader in the future in the field of Cyber Security.
ICA 2015 this time took place in Bali, after the previous ICA 2014 in Makassar, ICA 2013 in Samarinda, and ICA 2012 in Medan. This means that the ICA has been the fourth time. The categories competed are CTF Hacking and CTF Foresic. In total, there are 155 Teams for both categories. And of course the participants of this competition are increasing from year to year.
In this competition, Telkom University sent two Teams representing the two categories. The first team was the Foresty Team for the CTF Hacking category. The members are consisted of Novelino Yona PL (Bachelor of Information Engineering), Habib Reza Khalifa (Bachelor of Information Engineering), Ari Apridana (Bachelor of Information Systems) and the second Team namely For Ice Tea Team with Forensic CTF category Yusmaad Saad (Bachelor of Informatics Engineering), Imam Rahman (Bachelor of Informatics Engineering), Arian Anggada (Bachelor of Information Engineering).
After passing the online registration stage through the official Indonesian Cyber Army website, the two teams departed on September 30, 2015. The ICA 2015 competition itself took place on October 1, 2015, on which day the announcement of the winners was immediately delivered.
Of the two Tel-U Teams that were successfully sent, one of them was Team Foresty who won 3rd place in the CTF hacking category. This certainly adds to the history and new achievements achieved by Telkom University students. In the future, it is expected that the fruits of this competition can be beneficial, and of course, more and more students are encouraged to excel carrying the Tel-U alma mater.
