COMPUTATION SCIENCE Study Program

Computational Science Study Program is a study program that develops an understanding of mathematics and science through simulation techniques to obtain knowledge directly from these fields through the application of computer technology. The Computational Science Undergraduate Study Program is one of the study programs in the School of Computing, Telkom University. Computational Science study program was established in early 2009 under the Faculty of Science Telkom Institute of Technology based on the Decree of the Directorate of Higher Education Ministry of National Education Republic of Indonesia Number 90 / D / T / 2009 dated January 21, 2009. In connection with the transformation of the Telkom Institute of Technology into Telkom University, In April 2014, the management of the Computational Science Study Program was changed to under the School of Computing at Telkom University.

Computational science is a scientific field with an extensive focus of study, ranging from science, engineering, and even social. The Computational Undergraduate Study Program at the School of Computing, Telkom University focuses on Computational Mathematics, Computational Experiment, and Parallel Computing. There are three issues related to the above: (i) how to solve real problems with computational approaches through modeling, (ii) how to build efficient algorithms to solve computational problems and (iii) how to solve complex computational problems with high-performance computing approaches (High-Performance Computing).

There are three Wildly Important Goals (WIG) that will be achieved until 2018

  1. Accreditation: Minimum A standard of the National Directorate of Higher Education Accreditation.
  2. Research: Has a center for computational finance studies supported by large-scale computing infrastructure.
  3. Facilities: Has human resources and facility support for high-performance computing purposes High-Performance Computing that can compete at the national level.

  3. Forming the character of graduates who have integrity, competence, and national and international competitiveness.
  4. Creating a research culture, cross-cultural academic atmosphere, and an entrepreneurial spirit among academicians.
  5. Producing research work that is useful in improving the quality of life of the community and supporting national economic development.
  6. Graduating scholars who are wise towards nature and care about the problems of humanity.
