The School of Computing Develops the Liangjulang Majalengka Village Potential Dashboard
In running Tri Darma, every university is required to be able to help the surrounding community. One of the things that can be done is by doing community service. With the existence of community service, it is expected to have a positive impact in terms of the application of technology, knowledge, and performance improvement.
Based on this enthusiasm, the School of Computing, Telkom University, continues to advance to provide community service programs to various regions in Indonesia. One of them is community service in one of the villages in Majalengka district, namely Liangjulang Village, Kadipaten District.
Liangjulang village is the village that results from the breakdown of the Kadipaten Village, with a population of 10087 people. 30% of the population in this village works in the Agriculture sector, 30% work in the private sector, 20% are self-employed, and the rest are unemployed. Seeing from the professional distribution of the population of Liangjuang Village and through interviews and surveys conducted, it was obtained the fact that the competence of Human Resources (HR) of Desa Liangjuang was still below the minimum standard especially in terms of knowledge and capabilities of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
In addition to improving the quality of public services by HR, it is also necessary to support science and technology facilities to enhance the quality of service, facility quality and availability of ICT facilities supporting daily operational activities.
Seeing the reality in the field, the three lecturers of the School of Computing, Telkom University consisting of Dr. Maman Abdurohman, Sidik Prabowo, and Aji Gautama developed a dashboard to improve the performance of the village administration, in this case, Liangjuang Village.
“The Village Potential Dashboard was created to help the operational performance of the Kelurahan agency and monitor village development also show what potential the village has,” said Dr. Maman Abdurohman as Team Leader.
In addition to the dashboard, this community service activity will also include counseling related to the use of ICT in the operational activities of Government Agencies.
“After the dashboard has been created, we from the Team will also provide counseling to the Village Human Resources HR regarding the dashboards built, along with improvements related to the use of ICTs,” continued Dr. Maman.
“Hopefully this community service will be able to help increase the productivity of the Liangjuang Village Subdistrict Office, Kadipaten District, Majalengka Regency,” Dr. Maman.(-LEN)
