The Hoome Team from the School of Computing Telkom University Becomes Champion of the 2016 Indonesia Imagine Cup
Bandung, SOC The technology competition specifically made for students and collegian. Microsoft again held the Imagine Cup in 2016. Like last 2015, this year, Microsoft still has three categories, namely Innovation, Worlds Citizenship, and Games.
Yesterday (6/4), Microsoft Indonesia held the Final Imagine Cup 2016 in Indonesia. There are three teams from each category competing and must present their work before the jury within ten minutes. At the end of the event, the winners of the three categories contested were immediately announced.
The Hoome Studio Team, which is one of the teams from the Telkom University School of Computing, which is a combination of students from the Bandung Institute of Technology and Telkom University, won first place in the Innovation category. Later, the winners from the final in Indonesia are entitled to take part in the world-level semifinal which will begin at the end of April 2016. If they also manage to qualify from the round, they will fly to Seattle on July 2016 to take part in the world finals, and fight for prizes of US $ 50,000 (around Rp.660 million).
The Hoome Studio Team With a product called Hoome, this team tried to implement a smart home concept. With various sensors imposed by users, Hoome can detect the level of stress, mood, and health of the user. Then, Hoome will arrange all electronic devices in the house to suit the user’s condition. For example, if the sensor detects a user is already sleeping, the Hoome will automatically turn off or dim the room lights.
