School of Computing Held Elearning-based Workshop for Teacher of Cendekia Muda Elementary School
Cendekia Muda Elementary school is an inclusive school which accommodate special needs students, the school is based on AlQur’an and The Prophet Sunnah. This school located in Jl. Arcamanik Endah 35, Sukamiskin, Bandung, West Java. The various characteristics of students in Cendekia Muda Elementary School needs to be accommodate by the teachers using various learning method so that the learning needs of every student can be fulfilled.
The utilization of e-learning as a supporting system of learning process in school is one of the best alternative that can be chosen by school to overcome the problem. Furthermore, it can grows students’ and teachers’ awareness of the great impact of information technology evolution in education sector. By using elearning, students can learn independently with time and place flexibility to access the learning resources and activities. Besides, teachers can easily manage the class and can choose various learning activities according to the learning objectives.
Lecturer team of School of Computing consisting of Danang Junaedi, Anisa Herdiani, Warih Maharani, and Prati Hutari Gani, then wiling to contribute to the solution by enriching the learning method in Cendekia Muda Elementary School by organizing an e-learning Google Classroom workshop for the teacher as a community service program. The workshop is also empowered by the assistants of Database Laboratory, Motion, Multimedia, Tel-C, and RPL-GDC.
The workshop was held at Cendekian Muda Elementary School in June 21st 2019, and was attented by 33 teachers from level 1 to 6. The lesson in the workshop consist of google classroom introduction, class management, online quiz production, assignment settings, grading, and utilization of calendar.
Evaluation of the workshop was conducting by distributing quistionaire of feedback. Based on the feedback results, all the workshop participants give positive responses to the program and hopes that Telkom University can organize another activities in the future.
