Tel-U Computational Science Study Program Targets Research Collaboration
Bandung, SOC – Telkom University aims to become a research-based tertiary institution in 2017. Creating a research climate to the level of Study Program is important to realize these ideals. According to the Head of Computational Sciences Dr. Deni Saepudin, S.Si., M.Sc, research conducted by Study Program must be able to collaborate with external parties so that research is more useful.
“The research culture in Computational Sciences has grown quite well and shown by the number of research grants and research funds that are quite high. Computational Science Study Program targets every lecturer to be involved in research activities. Especially studies that are funded by outside parties such as the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia or government agencies, the private sector, and international parties, “explained Deni.
Regarding community service, Computing Science plans to build a village financial system for village governments in 2015. Also, Deni said that the community service activities in Computing Science during 2014 were mostly carried out through the use of science and technology activities for the community.
“Most of these activities are funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. With the target of activities, among them are the local government and Posyandu cadres. “Another activity is to introduce the use of High-Performance Computing for Small and Medium Enterprises,” Deni explained.
