Telkom University held an International Conference on Global Trends in Academic Research (GTAR) 2014
BALI , TEL-U – Telkom University cooperates with Global Illuminators to hold an international scientific conference on June 2-3, 2014 entitled “Global Trend on Academic Research (GTAR) 2014”.
479 speakers from eighteen countries attended the conference which held at Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Hotel. Also, thirteen professors and associate professors contributed to this conference. This conference is part of a series of activities of Telkom University Anniversary Dies Natalis I.
Present at the opening ceremony as well as being a keynote speaker for the Chancellor of Telkom University, Prof. Mochamad Ashari, Ph.D. In his speech, he described the development of renewable energy on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Another keynote speaker is Prof. Zamri Mohamed, dean of the Prime School of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
Also, there was the Vice Chancellor IV of Telkom University, Dr. Yahya Arwiyah, M.H, who also acted as the Conference President, along with the Director of Research and Service to the Community of Telkom University, Dr. Palti Marulitua Sitorus, M.M.
Most participants came from Malaysia with 341 academics, and the next most came from Indonesia as many as 46 academics. Domestic participants came from 11 universities, where academics from Telkom University registered the most participation, namely as many as 18 people. Through this activity, it is expected to strengthen the direction of Telkom University as a Research University. (Purel / CPR )
