Cryptography Expert: Prof. Willy Susilo became a Resource Person for Seminars and Public Lectures at the School of Computing

Bandung, SOC – Wednesday (09/17/2014), the School of Computing Telkom University receives the arrival of experts in the field of Cryptography. He is a Professor of the University of Wollongong, Australia, Willy Susilo. Prof. Willy Susilo is an Indonesian who works as a teacher in Australia. Prof. Willy came from the city of Surabaya and studied at the University of Surabaya and graduated with the title “Summa Cum Laude”. Then he continued his master’s education and doctor of Philosophy at the University of Wollongong (UOW), New South Wales, Australia in 1996 and 2001. Prof. Willy in the field of computer science and software engineering led him to become a Professor in 2009.

His presence at the School of Computing was a series of events initiated by the ICM (Intelligence, Computing, and Multimedia) Research Group chaired by Ari M. Barmawi, Ph.D. It began with attending hospitality with the Dean and the School of Computing lecturer on the first day. Followed by a public lecture themed Cryptography: Past, Present, and Future Directions on the second day. And on the last day became a speaker at a workshop themed Lattice Based Cryptography.

Cryptography is a science that studies how to keep data or messages safe when sent, from the sender to the recipient without experiencing interference from third parties. Cryptography is a process of taking messages and using several functions to generate cryptographic material (a digest or encrypted message). – LEN
