History of the School of Computing
The Faculty of Informatics began with the Bachelor of Information Engineering study program which was originally under the Telkom College of Technology (STT Telkom) which was founded in 1992. Then, the Department of Informatics developed into the Faculty of Informatics when STT Telkom was transformed into the Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom) in 1992. 2007. In 2013, along with the founding of Telkom University, the Faculty of Informatics became an integral part of this university. Opportunities for the development of science and technology make the Faculty of Informatics currently developing and has 13 study programs: Bachelor of Science in Informatics, Bachelor of Informatics (Surabaya Campus), Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Jakarta Campus), Bachelor of 1 Information Technology (Surabaya Campus), Bachelor of Software Engineering, Bachelor of Software Engineering (Surabaya Campus), Bachelor of Data Science, Bachelor of Data Science (Surabaya Campus), Bachelor of PJJ Informatics, Bachelor of 2 Informatics, Masters in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, and PhD in Informatics. The development of the Faculty of Informatics is part of improving the quality of national education which is one of the efforts to support the achievement of the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development 2011-2025 (MP3EI) in creating a generation of people who have the competence to compete with other nations. As well as supporting Telkom University’s Strategic Plan in order to achieve its Vision to become a National Excellence Entrepreneurial University by 2028, which contributes to fulfilling sustainable development goals. In line with this, the Faculty of Informatics is determined to become a world-class Faculty by 2028 that excels in the field of informatics and computers and contributes to supporting the achievement of National Excellence Entrepreneurial University to increase the nation’s competitiveness and fulfill sustainable development goals.
