Workshop of Utilization of the Online Marketing in the Development of Small Enterprises with the PKK Desa Lengkong

We can feel the rapid development of e-commerce at Indonesia in the past years. This development indicated by 4 Unicorn start up company with valuation above 1 billion USD, 3 of them are working on the e-commerce business such as Bukalapak, Tokopedia, and Gojek. But the marketing technique using this platform has not been fully utilized by citizen arround Telkom University, especially by the housewives who have a lot of potential to create and ship a product.

We can see this poor utilization example of the on-line marketing platform in the Housewife Community of Lengkong Villange in South Bandung (PKK Lengkong, Kabupaten Bandung). This information was gathered as the result of discussion with the Housewife Community representative. They said that nobody use the e-commerce to market their products inside the community. The Housewife Community of Lengkong Villange (PKK Lengkong) is the organization with more than 50 active members, their activity is creating the traditional food and creative product such as variety of Sudanese snacks and handmade accessory. Unfortunately this products only marketed in the local region.

As the part of our service to the community, the lecturer team from the School of Computing, Telkom University understand the situation and provide solution by providing short lecture how to build small enterprises (business) and introducing the on-line marketing platform (e-commerce). The speaker of this event is Rizka Reza Pahlevi from My Digi, who are entrepreneur for the embedded system products.

This event was held at Wednesday, June 19th 2019 at School of Computing Telkom University. Reza introduced how to see potential of the products, the utilization of internet marketing technique (especially e-commerce), and problem solving discussion in building start-up business. All the participant were very enthusiastic during the discussions. Participants ask many technical question and tips and trick how to effectively market their products using the e-commerce. We hope after this event there will be SMEs who will grow its market from the community members. As the follow up to this event, we already proposed the next program to improve the skill of community members to creatively packed their products and document their products in appealing way.
