Telkom University Students Return to Become Google Student Ambassadors

BANDUNG, SOC-Telkom University – Paras Muthia Bianda, Rakhmad Indrapermadi, and Muhammad Mufid Lutfi seemed beaming that afternoon. They looked happy following the news they received if they passed the selection into the 3rd generation of Google Student Ambassador (GSA).

GSA is a program owned by Google to connect these giant companies with universities throughout the world. Through GSA, students from all over the world can learn more about Google applications and products, hold entertaining and educational events at each campus where GSA originates. The selected students became representatives of the college to establish relationships with Google.

“I want to be one of the developers of Google applications and programs that can be applied at Tel-U later,” said Rakhmad. Meanwhile, Muthia hopes to gain more experience and establish relationships. “If I want to get experience and acquaintance with other students from abroad,” Muthia said. Both are students of the 2012 School of Computing Informatics Engineering.

Mufid is more interested in developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bandung. “I am part of the Google Business Partner organization that develops programs for MSMEs because I am in Bandung so I hope I can also develop MSMEs in Bandung,” said the student of the 2012 Information System School of Industrial Engineering.

This year, the Google Student Ambassador at Telkom University enters the 3rd generation. Previously, Rosa Lestari Fardani (Informatics Engineering 2010 student) had also become 1st GSA in 2012. Furthermore, in 2013, I Gusti Bagus Ady Sutrisna (Informatics Engineering 2011 student) and Muhammad Taufik Ismail (Informatics Engineering 2010 students) were the 2nd GSA.

They followed this GSA with the same goal of implementing Google Apps for Education in the Tel-U environment, bringing in speakers from Google in seminars and updating information about the latest programs and applications from Google to Tel-U students.

The next stage, Muthia, Rakhmad, and Mufid will take part in the Summit which will take place on 29 May – 2 June 2014 in the Philippines. For four days they will be briefed on the GSA program and what they have to do on their respective campuses.
