The Brainstat Team of the Tel-U School of Computing Successfully Becomes Runner Up at University Mobile Challenge 2015 Barcelona

Bandung – SOC, University Mobile Challenge is a prestigious international competition in the world for information technology held annually by Berkeley Mobile International Collaborative. On this year’s occasion, the Brainstat Team from the School of Computing – Telkom University had the opportunity to represent Indonesia to compete in the world-level finals. Before entering the final round, the Brainstat team has succeeded through a series of online selection processes so that the Brainstat team has the right to represent Indonesia and participate in the grand final in Barcelona, Spain on March 1 – 5, 2015. This event is also a series of Mobile World Congress, the largest annual meeting mobile industry.

At the 2015 University Mobile Challenge, Telkom University competed with some of the world’s best universities. Here are the 2015 UMC finalists:

  3. Fickle, Nanyang Technical University, Singapore
  4. 3DPrinterOs, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia

  7. Seed Convergent Technology, University of Capetown, South Africa
  8. Spleet, ESE Paris, France

 

Finally, the Brainstat team from the School of Computing Telkom University managed to become a runner up in the grand final which took place on March 4, 2015, at Fira Montjuic, Barcelona. The Brainstat team consisted of five students from the School of Computing, Telkom University, namely Nanda Budi Prayuga, David Musthofha, Annisa Riyani, Masyithah Nur Aulia, and Febriana Sawitri and one supervisor, Dody Qori Utama. They created the Brainstat project, which is an application to monitor and control both physical and mental conditions of a driver while driving. The problem solved by the Brainstat team is to reduce the rate of transportation accidents by monitoring and controlling both the physical and mental conditions of a driver while driving. This project is one of the products produced by the Programming Club, a unit of reasoning of students who are at the Telkom University’s School of Computing.
